June Holiday Menu

Father's Day

June is one of our favorite months at the bakery, as we get to celebrate both Pride and Father’s Day!

Our Father’s Day pre-orders are officially open, and we’ve put together a menu of delicious offerings for your celebration. Back by popular demand, we have our Pulled Pork Empanadas (2-pack) and Hewn-Made Pretzels with a side of honey mustard (2-pack). We're also baking up Dinner Rolls (12-pack)—which are the absolute perfect rolls for BBQ sliders. (They are also great on their own with a side of butter!).

The real showstopper this year is our brand-new Chocolate Stout Cheesecake. It is rich and decadent, and it is sure to be the star of your Father’s Day weekend. We'll also have plenty of our classic take-and-bake items and breads available for order, including our new fan favorite Baby Blonde Cheddar loaves.

Don't miss out: Place your order by Thursday, June 18th at 8:00 PM for pick up at either Evanston, Libertyville or Winnetka on Saturday, June 20th or Sunday, June 21st.

Pride is a celebration of love, acceptance, and freedom. In today’s crazy world, the mission behind Pride feels more urgent and important than ever. We are always proud to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.

To celebrate all month long, our Pride Croissants are back! Filled with berry jam, you can catch these colorful creations in our pastry case every weekend in June.

Planning a bigger celebration for Pride Weekend? You can pre-order a Pride Croissant 4-pack for pick-up on Saturday, June 20th or Sunday, June 21st. You can also grab one of our custom Pride Hewn stickers at any of our locations.

A portion of all Pride sales this month will be donated directly to Equality Illinois, supporting their important work for LGBTQ+ rights across the state.

New Summer Items

Sandwiches

Caprese: Fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, pesto and balsamic on a baguette.

Seasonal Garden Sandwich: House-made green fava bean puree, radishes, cucumbers, feta, avocado, greens and a house herb viniagrette on our Blonde Country Pan loaf. This is replacing our Classic Veggie on Ciabatta for the summer. We think you will love it!!!

Roasted Pesto Chicken Sandwich: Peppadew peppers, manchego cheese, and balsamic crema on brioche. This is replacing the Chicken Apple sandwich for the summer.

To-Go Tuna: Containers will be replacing the Tuna Sandwich - available at our Evanston location.

New Brownie Alert!

We are also excited to introduce our new chocolate brownie with a graham cracker crust and topped with chocolate ganache and a toasted marshmallow. This is a decadent and delicious treat perfect for the summer.

July 4th Events

We will be OPEN in Evanston, Winnetka and Libertyville this year on July 4th!  All locations will close at 1pm to allow our staff to enjoy the festivities that afternoon.  Please make a note of this and be aware of parking restrictions on that day.

EVANSTON: The Evanston 4th of July Parade is one of our favorite events of the year - it reflects the creativity and uniqueness of our town for sure!  The Parade starts at 2:00 pm and begins at Central Park Avenue, traveling east on Central Street to Ryan Field at Ashland Avenue.

Other events include the following:

BAND CONCERT: 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm, Palatine Concert Band, Arrington Lakefront Lagoon at Dawes Park

LAKEFRONT FIREWORKS: 9:30 pm

WINNETKA: The Winnetka Parade also takes place Saturday, July 4th at 10am.  The parade starts on the corner of Elm Street + Glendale Avenue and will proceed east down Elm Street to finish at Village Green Park.  This should not affect any access to our location in Hubbard Woods, so stop by the store before or after the parade for food and refreshments for the whole family.

LIBERTYVILLE: Libertyville Days is scheduled for June 18-21st, with the parade taking place right in front of our store Saturday, June 20th from 10-noon.  We hope to see you there.

Our July 4th special menu will be available online in the days ahead - be on the lookout for it!

Evanston Construction Updates

Thank you again for your patience and for continuing to visit our Evanston location during this massive construction project on Central Street.  We are nearing the finish line!  If the weather cooperates, the crews might be finished with their work this Friday - fingers crossed.

As you can see, this project involved alot of hard work, skill and coordination - kudos to the construction crews for their expertise and getting this done in a timely manner.

We are looking forward to having our street back and parking more readily available for our customers!

Thank you so much for supporting Hewn. We really appreciate it. If you can, please leave us a Google review. Your feedback means the world to us. Hope to see you soon!
