~New Ordering System and Process~
Hewn fans,
As we prepare for our favorite time of year, we want to share an important update about how holiday pre-orders will work this season for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays.
Due to Tock discontinuing their "To Go" service after merging with Resy (and raising fees) we’ve spent the last two months transitioning our holiday ordering system over to Square—the same platform that already powers our register POS and daily online pickup orders.
Moving holiday pre-orders to Square helps us keep costs down so we don't have to pass extra fee increases on to you. Because this transition is happening right at our busiest time of year, we deeply appreciate your patience and feedback as we navigate this new setup together!
Key Things to Know Before Placing Your Holiday Pre-Order:
1. Pick-Up Dates Have Specific Ordering Links: To keep production organized for both you and our team, Tuesday and Wednesday will have their own dedicated order link. Click the appropriate day to start your order.
2. Note the Pickup Location: All pre-orders for every Hewn location are housed on this central platform. The site will ask you to select your pick up location prior to you placing your order.
3.Select Items for your cart. Choose all of the items you would like to order.
4. Open Pick-Up Window (No Specific Times): Unlike Tock, you do not need to book a specific time slot! Pick-ups run anytime between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM on your chosen pick-up day. Remember to bring your order number or the name and email that the order is under.
Note: Expect a short wait in the pick-up line during peak hours. If you’d like to add extra day-of items to your order, just hop into the regular line and we’ll pull your pre-order at checkout.
5. A Quick System "Glitch" to Ignore: When ordering, please ignore the top-left corner of the screen if it displays today's date. This is an unfixable Square glitch. By choosing your items, the pick up date will correct itself.
5. Loyalty Points Update: Loyalty points cannot be redeemed on holiday pre-orders due to system limitations. However, you will still earn points on all pre-orders to use on future walk-in purchases!
Weekly Challah Update
In addition to our holiday pre-orders, we are also moving our weekly Friday Challah orders from Tock over to Square! Starting next week, you can order your Friday Challah directly through our standard daily online Square ordering system for convenient Friday pickup.

Thanksgiving 2026
Whether you’re in charge of bringing dessert, baking fresh morning treats for family, or stocking up on bread for the big feast, we’ve gathered your Hewn favorites to make your holiday table extra special. Here is what you can pre-order this year for either Tuesday or Wednesday pick up:
Special Items
Pumpkin Pie: Organic pumpkin baked into a smooth custard, filling a buttery crust flecked with Janie's Mill cornmeal. Finished with whipped cream flavored with vanilla and mascarpone on top.
Bourbon Pecan Pie: This pie gets a serious flavor upgrade from a generous measure of FEW Bourbon and it features a deeply flavorful, rustic crust made from Bloody Butcher cornmeal.
Mixed Berry Kringle: Our interpretation of a beloved Midwestern treat with Scandinavian roots. We forgo the classic oval ring, encasing our filling within a braid of laminated pastry. A blend of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries combines with the light flakiness of our croissant dough, topped with sparkling sugar.
Apple Kringle: Apple pie flavors paired with the light flakiness of a croissant, accented with vanilla icing.
Take & Bake Pie Shells: Perfect for your own homemade fillings!
Take & Bake Morning Buns: Ideal for a cozy holiday morning.
Breads
Dinner Rolls, 12 pk: Baked using a classic, rich recipe (featuring butter, milk, and egg), these dinner rolls are exceptionally soft and tender. We recommend warming them slightly at home for that wonderful, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
Anadama: A classic soft sandwich bread made with whole grains and Janies Mill Bloody Butcher cornmeal. Lightly enriched with molasses and butter. This bread contains both our sourdough culture and yeast.
Sourdough Favorites: Cranberry Walnut, Turkey Red, Country, Blonde Country and Whole Wheat Seeded.
Special Gift
The 2026 Valrhona Advent Calendar is a treasure trove of indulgent treats to savor. Elegant and eco-friendly, it’s perfect for celebrating the countdown to Christmas. The calendar includes ten different chocolates including the following: Chocolate Ganache Dark, Almonds Praliné Nougatine Milk, Almonds & Hazelnuts Dark, Crispy Cereals Dark, Secret Gianduja, Square Dark Guanaja 70%, Square Milk Bahibé 46%, Square Milk Jivara 40%, Crunchy Almonds Hazelnuts Praliné, and Smooth Almonds Hazelnut Praliné. Limited quantities, so be sure to order ahead!

- Please note that Challah will not be available Friday, November 27th. We will have a skeleton staff working on Thanksgiving, and we are adjusting some of our production so that our staff can enjoy the holiday. Thank you for your understanding.
- Pre-ordering for regular items will not be available the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving - it will be first come, first served on those two days. We always make an ample amount of items that week, but be sure to come early for best selection.
- Baguettes will be available in Winnetka around 10am and Libertyville around 10:30am both days. The first round of baguettes will be available in Evanston at 9am and again around 11am both days. Baguettes are not available for pre-order. We will make as many as we can with our oven limitations on these very busy days.
Central Street Trick Or Treat This Saturday!
Come lift your spirits! Join Central Street for the annual Trick-or-Treat event at participating businesses (including Hewn) on Saturday, October 24 from 11 AM - 3 PM.
This is one of our favorite community events of the year. At Hewn, we will have a bevy of Halloween treats and toys for all of the costumed kids. Enter at our East door to visit the Halloween table, and while the kids are picking out their favorites, be sure to fuel up with some Hewn pastries and coffee. We will also be making extra Breakfast Sandwiches and Meatball Subs on Saturday!
