October 2026

October is such a fun time at the bakery. We love the weather changes, the falling leaves, and all of the special items made for you to enjoy. This month, those specials include a Dulce de Leche Kouign Amann, a Spanikopita Savory Danish, and Maple Whoopie Pies. We are also leaning into pumpkin this season with our Pumpkin Bundt Cake, Pumpkin Biscotti and Pumpkin Spice Bun. Lastly, our Turkey Cranberry sandwich is back on the menu as well! Visit us soon to enjoy these treats before they are gone for the season.

Fall Drink Specials

Our Front of House staff really outdid themselves this year with our fall drink specials. Choices include a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Maple Latte, Tiramisu Cold Brew or a London Fog Matcha. Also, be sure to try our Apple Cider, available hot or cold, sourced from our friends at Mick Klug Farm in Michigan. Pair any of these drinks with your favorite Hewn treat for the perfect breakfast or snack. Its a great way to start your day!

Holiday Prep Meeting with FOH Staff

This week in Evanston, all of the Front of House staff gathered to discuss our Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas holiday preparations. It was a rare and wonderful chance for everyone to connect. Our staff works tirelessly to provide personal, informative, and friendly service, and they all come with a wide range of food and retail experience. Thank you for recognizing their hard work - please stop by and say hello to these wonderful people the next time you are in the store(s)!

Thanks to all for coming out for the Medicine for All People book event at Hewn last month. Integrative medicine leader Dr. Geeta Maker-Clark joined Ellen for a lively conversation about how we can use food as a tool for healing, followed by a cooking demo (and dance party!) at the end.

A great time was had by all.  Look for more events in 2027, after the holidays.

Like what we do?  Please consider writing a review for us on Google. It really makes a difference!

Stay tuned for our Thanksgiving Menu, which should be available on Tock at the end of the month.  We are cooking up some really unique specials for the holiday this year - order early before items sell out.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram for all of the latest Hewn happenings.

Thanks again for your support of the bakery and we hope to see you very soon!
