Easter brunch can be hectic, especially if the whole family is getting together to celebrate. Make your day a lot easier by leaving the cooking to a restaurant — or at least count on a local bakery to handle the dessert. These spots in Chicago and the suburbs have you covered.
*Unless otherwise listed, all dine-in packages occur Sunday, April 16 and do not include tax or gratuity.*
Bakeries:
Cocoa + Co. Sweet treats are as beautiful as they are tasty at Cocoa + Co. The Easter lineup includes chocolate garden bunnies ($13.50), a bunny lunchbox (two marshmallow-filled chocolate bunnies in a Mariebelle lunchbox, $17), a faux-nest filled with chocolate pastel eggs ($12) and large, lovely hand-painted chocolate eggs filled with rich ganache, sea-salt caramel or espresso-infused caramel ($11). Available now through Easter. 1651 N Wells St., 312-624-8540, www.cocoaandco.com
Glazed and Infused Now for the cutest item on the list: “Bunny butt” doughnuts from Glazed and Infused, which are adorably decorated to look — not taste, thankfully — like the backside of a bunny rabbit. Those uninterested in eating a bunny butt can opt for a traditional doughnut with “Happy Easter” written in frosting, but we’re not sure why you would. Available April 14-16. Multiple locations, www.goglazed.com
Hewn You won’t lack for holiday baked goods at this Evanston bakery, which is offering hot cross buns, bunny-shaped sugar cookies and much more. Guests are encouraged to call ahead to order and secure specific items. Now through Easter. 810 Dempster St., Evanston, 847-869-4396, www.hewnbread.com
